MFM FC defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-0 at the Agege Township Stadium in a NPFL Match Day 17 tie rescheduled for Monday morning after downpour prevented the game from holding on Sunday.
The Olukoya Boys got their two goals in the first half of the encounter through Niger Tornadoes’ Abiodun Adebayo who diverted the ball into his own net in the 26th minute before Stephen Odey settled the affair in the 45th minute for his seventh goal of the season.
Tornadoes came back into the second half with lots of enthusiasm to change the tide but MFM held on to ensure that the game ended in their favour.
The win takes MFM’s points haul to 26 from 17 matches and they are now eighth on the log. They travel to Nnewi to face FC Ifeanyi Ubah in a Match Day 18 tie on Wednesday.
