Kidnapped Ogun journalist, daughter regain freedom

The director of information, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Mrs Nosifat Oshin who was abducted alongside her 15- year-old daughter, Afolabi, regained their freedom on Friday.
They spent two weeks in the den of the kidnappers.
Nofisat, a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, is the wife of a former deputy Speaker in the state, Dr Tokunbo Oshin.
The victims according to the family were released about mid-day but it was not clear whether the family pay any ransom to the kidnappers.
Detail of their release was sketchy at press time, as the duo, were said to have been taken to an undisclosed hospital where they are receiving treatment.
It will be recalled that Mrs Oshin and her daughter were kidnapped on June 2,in front of the family home in Ijebu-Ode while trying to drive inside the compound .
Their abductors were reported to have blocked their car with their own Toyota Camry and took them away in it, while other members of the gang drove in Mrs Oshin’s car.
Her daughter was said to be sitting for the National Examinations Council, as at the time of the incident. The duo spent two weeks in captivity with their abductors.
When contacted, Dr Oshin confirmed their release, adding that the victims had been taken to hospital for medical attention.
He said, “Thank God my wife and daughter have been released about thirty minutes ago, but they have been taken to hospital for medical care.”
He, however, refused to give further details.
