Ikorodu United cheat death in auto crash

Players and officials of the Lagos based Nigeria Professional Football League outfit were involved in an auto crash on Friday evening

Ikorodu United players and officials were involved in an accident on Friday evening in Enugu enroute Makurdi when they face Lobi Stars in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League game.
No death was recorded but minor injuries as players escaped through the window of the Chisco bus.
“It happened at about 4pm this evening when a trailer was trying to get hold of itself , lost control and faced out bus,” said by the media officer Babatunde Ayoola .
“Players sustained minor injuries from the knees to the shoulder because everybody escaped through the window. The bus is condemned but we thank God that none of us died.”
However, he is unsure if the game against the Makurdi based team would hold as they have reported the case to the league organisers.
“That is what we don’t know,” he continued. “ We are trying to get across to the League Management Company to help us postpone the game and we are waiting for their response.”
Ikorodu United sit at the base of the Nigeria topflight log with 15 points from 21 games.
