N’Golo Kante could be on his way out of the King Power Stadium this summer.
Premier
League giants Manchester City are said to be negotiating with the agent
of on-demand Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante over a possible
transfer. Following Pep Guardiola’s confirmed arrival at the Etihad this
summer, City’s midfield engine Yaya Toure is said to be on his way out
of the club. Both Toure and Pep worked together at Barcelona some years
back, but their relationship was quite cold.
With Toure’s form deteriorating due to injury and possibly the age factor, Kante is widely seen as the new man to add more fuel to City’s midfield in the coming years. The Frenchman was named Leicester City players’ Player of the Year and has become one of the most sought-after talents in the league this season following his impressive performances for the Foxes, something that lead them to their historic title triumph.
The 25-year-old has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, Arsenal or French giants Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
French publication L’Equipe reports that Kante’s representatives arrived in Manchester on Thursday to initiate negotiations with City’s officials over a possible transfer. The publication further claims that the two parties have met twice this week and a deal could be agreed at the end of the season.
