A former Special Adviser on Political Matters to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Prof. Rufai Alkali, who is currently under probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, says he has confidence in the EFCC to unearth the truth.
Alkali said this in a statement on Sunday while reacting to reports that a group he headed, Goodluck Support Group, received N320m, which emanated from the account of the Central Bank of Nigeria during the build-up to the 2015 presidential election.
He said, “The issues under investigation are within the powers of the relevant agencies charged with the constitutional responsibility to do so and I believe that the agencies have been doing their work without any interference by anyone.
“I therefore have absolute confidence in the ability and capacities of the men and women, who are saddled with the task of cleansing the system, to do their work in line with their mandate.”
