Abductors of PTI chief security officer demand N30m ransom

Abductors of the Chief Security Officer of the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State, Mr John Odogun, are asking for N30m ransom before they could free him.
He was kidnapped on Sunday by five armed gunmen along the NNPC Complex road in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state, on his way to church at about 6.05am.
The hoodlums contacted a member of his church, Rainbow Christian Assembly, headed by a Ghanaian Pastor where they disclosed the sum late Monday evening.
His relatives had begged the abductors to reduce the amount requested as ransom, but the captors vehemently refused before ending the call.
The gunmen had not called again since the late Monday’s call.
But a security operative and member of the anti-kidnapping squad told our correspondent that efforts had been intensified by security agents in the state to rescue the victim unhurt.
The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed Odogun’s abduction, said the victim would soon be rescued.
