Youths hindering investigation into death of six siblings – Police
The Anambra Police Command on Monday
said the youths of Ekwulumili, where six siblings were allegedly
poisoned through food, were impeding investigations on the matter.

Ali Okechukwu told our correspondent on the telephone that the youths
in the area were hostile to the investigating police team.
He said ” I don’t know what is their problem. They are hostile to our men.
“Especially that first day, the didn’t
allow our men (police) to enter the community to carry out
investigation. They blocked everywhere.”
He said the chairman of vigilance group in the community had officially reported the matter to the police.
Ali said the Divisional Police Officer in the area had been mandated to investigate the matter.
The police spokesperson said there were scanty information on the cause of the death of the siblings which occurred on Saturday.
“We are surprised that even the
relations of the the deceased children are not coming up with
information on this issue,Ali stated.
He, however, said the police were on it and would unravelled the cause of the deaths.
A source, who pleaded anonymity told our
correspondent that the six children allegedly died after a fierce
quarrel between their parents and a family relation over a farmland.
