The National Boundary Commission(NBC) has worked with the governments of seven Northern States that share borders with Niger Republic to combat insecurity and promote economic cooperation and integration in Africa.
This was revealed by NBC's Director General, Adamu Adaji, on Monday at a one-day workshop in Sokoto for the creation of Nigeria's platform for Local Border Authorities along the Nigeria-Niger International boundary.
The workshop, titled "Transforming Borders from Barriers to Bridges of Cooperation and Integration," was based on the Federal Government's desire to proactively utilize the enormous human resources for peacebuilding across the country.
Adaji challenged the attendees to be peacekeepers in their respective fields, emphasizing that encouraging peaceful coexistence should be everyone's priority.
