My father never took ill, says Bolaji Adeniji
Bolaji Adeniji, one of the children of the late Ogun State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Roqeeb Adeniji, who died on Monday(November 21),said that his father never took ill before his demise at the age of 79 years.
Bolaji, who spoke to our correspondent at his late father’s Oju Ore, Sango-Ota home, said he only complained of a mild pain in his legs which he had been battling with for a while.
He said, “I was with him in the afternoon yesterday(Monday) and he was lively and radiant. We later learnt that after taking his dinner, he proceeded to his room only to slump at the door, loosing conciousness in the process. He died while he was being taken to the hospital.
“we are glad he lived a good and lenghty life. At 79, we can only celebrate a great man who left legacies that are worthy of emulation, politically and morally.”
The remains of the politician popularly known as ‘Baba Computer’ had been interred at his Sango-Ota home on Tuesday(November 22).
He was the first majority leader in the Ogun State House of Assembly between 1979 and 1983 under the late first civilian governor of the state, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo.
Until his death, he pitched his tent with the progressives.
The state House of Assembly observed a minute silence for the departed politician during the budget proposal presentatation by the governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
