DHQ inaugurates ‘Change Begins With Me’ for Armed Forces
The Defence authorities have commenced a
sensitisation campaign on value system orientation for personnel of the
Armed Forces with the theme “the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Yesterday,
today and the Future.”
The Acting Director in charge of Defence
Transformation, Commodore Shuwa Mohammed, said during a press
conference in Abuja on Monday that the sensitisation campaign would be
conducted in two phases and was expected to cover 16 centers from
November 22, 2016 to February 17, 2017.
According to him, the exercise would be
conducted in collaboration with ‘A’ Team Unique Professionals Limited
in the six geopolitical zones of the country.
He said the campaigns would involve town
hall meetings, lectures and presentations, and seminars for the men and
officers of the military.
Mohammed said the exercise was designed
to “instill discipline, ethics, value system, serve delivery,
attitudinal change and patriotism as well as promote selfless service
for the common good and destiny of the Nigerian in line with the Federal
Government’s Change Begins with me reorientation mantra.”
He said the initiative was also aimed at
educating and enlightening members of the military to embrace the
values of accountability and integrity.
He stressed that a soldier with the right attitude would be loyal, patriotic and do better in the field of battle.
